After unexpectedly being diagnosed with bipolar disorder at age seventeen, Erin Callinan’s life was turned upside down. Less than a week after being discharged from a psychiatric hospital, Erin started her senior year of high school. Follow Erin as she shares her inspiring journey of how she and her family found hope and strength while navigating her way through the fear, shame, and stigma that follow being diagnosed with a serious mental illness.
Erin Callinan is the owner of Peace of My Mind, LLC through which she authored her book, “Beautifully Bipolar: An Inspiring Look into Mental Illness". Erin serves on the board of directors for MIKID (Mentally Ill Kids in Distress) and has spent the last three and a half years as a mentor at New Pathways for Youth. She is currently a graduate student at Arizona State University working towards her Masters degree in Social Work. Erin is the Director of Education Initiatives at the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence and has been in the field of anti-violence and social justice since 2007.
