Poster Contest
2011 National Federation Poster Contest!

Help raise awareness for children’s mental health and reduce stigma! Participate in the National Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health 2011 Poster Contest. Share your interpretation of positive mental health and have it entered into our national contest. The winner will be announced at the Annual Conference in Washington D.C. November 19, 2011!
Eligibility:
All youth and children up to the age of 18 are eligible. Individuals with emotional, behavioral and/or social challenges are encouraged to participate. There will be two separate age groups (0-11, and 12-18.)
Theme:
Youth Overcoming Trauma: Create art work that showcases what inspires you during times of difficulty.
Submission Guidelines:
- The poster must be related to the contest theme in some way.
- Entries must be done in paint, marker, crayon, watercolor, ink, pastels, or colored pencil.
- All submissions must be the original work of the participant. Reprinted work will not be accepted
- Entries must be no smaller than 8.5″x11″ and no larger than 11″ x 17″.
- All participants must complete the attached release form giving the National Federation permission to use the artwork. Download the National Federation 2011 Poster Contest Release Form Final / Download the Release Form in Spanish
- Submissions by individuals under the age of 12 must have signatures of both the child or youth and the parent/guardian on the form.
- If mailing your entry to the National Federation office it must be mailed flat, and should not be matted, mounted, laminated, framed or folded.
- All entries must be submitted with a contest form to be eligible for the contest; also the back of the poster should include the name, date of birth and address of person submitting the piece.
What you win!!!
- The winning posters will be announced during the 22nd Annual Conference.
- Work will be incorporated into the 2012 Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week Poster and winners will have the option of having their photo and a biography published in a news feature in the National Federation of Families Reclaiming Children Newsletter.
- The winning picture in each age group will be awarded $100 provided by Youth M.O.V.E. National.
- All contest participants will have the opportunity to have their artwork displayed on the Youth M.O.V.E. National website. (We don’t want all that talent and hard work to go to waste!)
How to enter the contest! (Two Options)
Option 1 (Via the Mail)
- All artwork must be submitted along with a completed 2011 Poster Contest Release Form.
- All mailed entry items, with release forms, must be postmarked to the address below by Friday, November 4, in order to be eligible for the contest.
- Any items not accompanied by a completed release form and not received November 4th, will be considered ineligible for judging.
Option 2 (In Person at the Annual Conference)
- All artwork must be submitted along with a completed 2011 Poster Contest Release Form.
- All entry items, with release forms, must be hand delivered to Eric Lulow at The Youth M.O.V.E. registration desk by Saturday, November 19 at 4:00 pm in order to eligible for the contest.
- Any items not accompanied by a completed release form will be considered ineligible for judging.
